The following educational opportunities are available to the inmate population of the Harrison County Jail. The Harrison County Jail educational programs provide assistance to inmates during their incarceration and provide the inmates with an opportunity for self-improvement before returning to the general population of Harrison County, Indiana.
GED (General Education Diploma) Program:
Harrison County Lifelong Learning provides an opportunity for inmates to receive their General Education Diploma. This class helps participants master basic skills in mathematics, science, social studies, language arts, and writing. These classes are offered three times per week to inmates and under certain circumstances the inmate may receive a reduced sentence upon completion.
Computer and Money Management Classes:
The Harrison County Jail offers computer and money management classes available to inmates for developing usable life skills for beyond their incarceration period.
